I was recently chatting with a friend of mine during a break for a new job I have recently embarked on when we started talking about various things that we were working towards or had accomplished in the last few years.

We talked in a very carefree way about our accomplishments, failures, goals, and general acts of outlandish behavior when my friend commented to me,

“How old are you again?”

“24”, I replied.

“You have done a hell of a lot of stuff for someone so young.”

“It’s because I value new experiences above anything else, life is too short to try something new every day.”

“My friend told me something once that applies a lot to you. He said, “You can’t outlearn your lifespan.””

I was so impressed by this quote that I asked him to repeat it as I wrote it down and told him that I would write a post about it on my website.

See Solomon, I wasn’t bullshitting you.

Out learning your lifespan is something that not everyone attempts to do, but I have fallen victim to it again and again. There have been consistent moments in my life where all I wanted to do is absorb as much new information as possible, about as many topics of interest, and become an expert in every capacity at every single thing that I attempted to accomplish.

In a lot of ways, I have succeeded in this area, in others; I have fallen flat on my face. While attempting to expand who you are is never a bad thing, trying to constantly get ahead of yourself at nearly every junction of life is a sure fire recipe for burn out.

You can’t outlearn your lifespan.

Its an inescapable truth in life. No matter how many things you try to accomplish, how many countries you visit, or how many skills you attempt to learn, you will always be faced with a bucket list that is not completed.

Almost like a sigh of relief for my life, trying to accept the notion that I cannot achieve omnipotence is soothing to my soul, as trying to run around like a serial killer slashing through one goal and the next is rather exhausting. I am beginning to learn that taking things easy, and slowing down to appreciate the things that occur in life has a much cleaner and simpler appeal than being Jack the Ripper of life accomplishments.

So take heed dear reader, and relish in the fact that no matter how much of a badass you are, you will never do everything you want to do before you die.

After a few hours, the woman died in her arms, it was at that moment that she swore that as long as she lived no one under her watch would die with such sorrow surrounding their life

She selflessly went from country to country offering aid and care to those less fortunate and met with the direst of life circumstances, giving homes to people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis. Building and maintaining soup kitchens, children’s and family counseling programs, orphanages, and schools for impoverished and struggling countries all over the world

She became a worldwide icon and at the time of her death she was mourned throughout the world for the face that she lived her life solely to reach out to the needs of others. Many people tend to dwell on the past and second guess the moment in front of themselves due to past and the lingering failures and successes that many believe, “but look what happened before, I bet that would happen again”

It is also common to gaze into the future, and artificially create problems and undesirable scenarios before they even occur, causing you not to follow through on the things you want simply because of a “what if” scenario.

This concept of living in the now is something that anyone can utilize in order to drastically improve the quality of their lives, or the lives of others

It means taking every moment for exactly what it is at face value, and running with it regardless of whatever past or future scenario that may or may not occur

When Mother Teresa watched someone die in her care again and again in her various homes across the world, she did not let their deaths linger in her mind, she realized that their deaths significied a need for her to take action, and help the next person who needed her care, instead of becoming sullen and downtrodden as a result of another loss of life

Similarly, when she thought of the millions of people in the world that needed care of some kind, she did not become overwhelmed with the ideas of how she was going to save the world, but rather became completely wrapped in the moment of saving the person that was in front of her at that very moment. By living for saving the person that existed in the now, she knew that she would be one step closer towards helping saving others

Crazy times would be the easiest way for me to define how my life has currently unfolding. I have been reading a lot of books lately, mostly in an attempt to absorb as much information about business and entrepreneurs as possible. Why? You might be wondering. Simply put, I am trying to engross myself into the mindset of what it takes to be a successful and fun loving business man. Anyone who has read this blog more than once knows how I feel about Hollywood and the whole notion of being a celebrity. In lighter words, I am not in a blog partnership with Perez Hilton, and I do not have a subscription to People magazine. To put it a bit more directly for the reading impaired, I do not understand nor do I give two shits about the goings on in the personal lives of any person who is famous, especially actors and actresses who are simply trying to take a shit without a camera going off (as atypical as they may be).With that out of the way we can get on as to why the hell I would exactly make a post of any nature surrounding the famous people that so many drool and fantasize over.

I have a great level of respect and interest in the history of the lives of many actor’s and actresses. I have found that the vast majority of them were not born into being famous, they busted their ass at their craft and became a huge megastar only because of their consistent efforts to never give up and quit when others would cry like babies. People like Sylvester Stallone who lived in the most poor of conditions, ruined a marriage, and sold their dog for a few dollars just so they could live for their passions and push towards what they want in life. People like that deserve respect, and that’s exactly what I have for them.
