Are You Happy? (A Simple Flowchart)

So I was wandering around the internet when I stumbled upon this hilarious and unique flow chart.

As you can see, this is not your office meeting’s typical graph of sales or customer satisfaction, but rather a chart that very bluntly and simply defines what it means to be happy.

While obviously there are different ways of explaining happiness to someone, both in complex and simplistic terms, sometimes you just need to boil things down to the way it simply is and cut out all the crap that gets in the way

And while many people might say that, “happiness really isn’t as simple as that, it is very complex and has a lot of biological and physical requirements in order for it to occur”. If you are one of these people let me first say that A) you are right from a scientific standpoint and B) go to the part of the chart where it says “Do you want to be happy?” and truthfully answer it. Chances are if you have to over think something as simple as feeling happy, you simply are not

So instead of doing what most websites would do and over analyze something as simple and beautiful as this chart I am going to over a few sentences of advice on how best to use it and then leave it to you guys to find the answer for yourself and report back to me via email or a comment down below why you are or are not happy right now

When using a chart like this, be as honest as possible with yourself. The idea isn’t to pick about every minuscule portion of your life and determine every little thing that makes you happy or not, it is meant to give you some concise ideas as to what you can do to stay happy or be happy. So don’t make this exercise into something more than it is, just be honest with every answer and at the end be sure to ask yourself what you would really need to do in order to keep things the same, or change them up in order to maintain a happy lifestyle. You know exactly what it takes to make you happy, so just bite the bullet, swallow your pride, take action and take control of the way you feel instead of feeling like a victim of your circumstances

Happiness depends upon ourselves.

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.

If only we’d stop trying to be happy we could have a pretty good time.
